Soar Technology, Inc., a leading developer of intelligent systems and intelligent software agents that generate human-like behavior, signed an agreement with Wizzard Software to provide technologies licensed by Wizzard from IBM and AT&T that enable speech recognition and synthesis, for the U.S. Army Aviation and Missile Research, Development, and Engineering Center (AMRDEC) at Redstone Arsenal and U.S. Special Operations Forces PEO-STRI. The agreement provides for AT&T's Natural Voices text-to-speech software and IBM speech recognition software, both of which are licensed and supported by Wizzard. SoarTech's project for AMRDEC will allow a pilot in a simulator or a Battle Master running an experiment to interact with SoarTech's intelligent agents through voice. A combination of speech recognition and intelligent behaviors will allow the agents to "hear" and understand the human voice and respond appropriately.
